I was born in Calgary, Alberta and lived in Cochrane, Alberta until we moved to Leduc, Alberta when I was 10 years old. I spent most of my childhood playing football, soccer, swimming and basketball. As I got older my focus narrowed to just basketball and by the 9th. grade it was my only sport. Playing sports leads to lots of bumps, bruises and the occasional break or sprain in various areas of the body. Whenever I would get hurt, after I had some time to calm down about it, my dad would always hand me a copy of "Heal Your Body" by Louise L. Hay. I was always amazed to see some of the content she had written in her book and how it related to what I was feeling/experiencing in my life at the time and how it ended up showing up in my body. This mind body connection always had my interest but I would only talk about it with a few select people for fear of being outed as different or weird. As I got older and actually decided to read the book rather than just flip to the body parts pages, I started to feel that the book was missing more information that I was looking for. I continued to use the book throughout high school or through sports injuries and ailments. As high school wrapped up and I began to transition from student to worker, I got a really bad ear infection while working my first job, that compounded into tinnitus in both ears. I religiously came back to the "Heal Your Body" book but my ears/hearing did not get better. I was angry with the book and felt like it was letting me down but I still kept a copy around. I also started to study Reiki to get another view point on the body from an energetic prospective. Surely Reiki and the magical book could help me out, sadly it did not give me the results I was looking for. In 2014 I moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and over the year I was there, I lost roughly 25 pounds. I continued to use the book and thought it would help fix my symptoms but again I was let down. I continued to play basketball and exercise while I was there and I thought I could fix my problems with eating more to gain the weight back. This did not help, in fact I lost five more pounds while eating "more". After having my health deteriorate right under my feet while using this book I felt helpless. I eventually found my way into an appointment with a "Medical Intuitive" and she recommended I try a "BodyTalk" session.
After spending the last two years learning about BodyTalk, I finally found the information I thought was missing from the "Heal your Body" book. BodyTalk has help me understand and grasp on an intellectual level the mind body connection and how it plays a role in a persons health through a theory called "Downward Causation" (pictured below). Now I work as a BodyTalk practitioner and a Conscious Living Investigation (CLI) instructor to aid other's in figuring it out as well.
I currently offer regular in person and group sessions in Leduc and Edmonton, Alberta and offer distance sessions for those who cannot attend in person. As well I coordinate BodyTalk Access classes in Leduc and teach "Introduction to CLI" throughout Western Canada.
